Army Chief of Staff, Secretary of State, Secretary of Defense, President of The American Cross and Nobel Peace Prize Laureate George C. Marshall made an incredible impact not only on his country but on his community in the Piedmont.
In partnership with the George C. Marshall International Center, join Rev. Brown Morton, Professor of Historic Preservation at the University of Mary Washington, Steve Price, VPHA Chair Emeritus and former president of the GCMIC, and Marshall Historian Rachel Thompson at the George C. Marshall International Center as they discuss Marshall’s life in the Piedmont, the restoration of his home at Dodona Manor, and the community’s role in honoring Marshall’s legacy.
The event will take place at George Marshall’s historic home of Dodona Manor at 217 Edwards Ferry Rd NE, Leesburg, VA 20176 at 2:00 pm to 4:30 pm. The discussions will take place outside under a shaded tent, followed by a tour of the house and a wine and cheese reception. Tickets are $40 for VPHA members and $50 for nonmembers.
Parking is available at The Shops at Dodona Manor at 312 East Market Street and the nearby County parking lots. Parking is not available on the grounds of Dodona Manor.
