Conversations in History: Long-planned but Short-lived: Loudoun’s Goose Creek & Little River Navigation Company

Guest speaker Stephen Thompson, Archaeologist with Loudoun County Department of Planning & Zoning, will trace the history of this 19th-century transportation endeavor, stressing the fundamental role of Loudoun’s merchants, millers, and larger landowners.

We’ll hear about the Goose Creek navigation system within the historical development of regional transportation systems and learn about what role the remnants of the canal will play in Loudoun’s future trails system.
