History Lab: Civil War vs. American Revolution

Lace up your brogans and put on your tricorn! Join MHAA at the historic Rector House to explore the differences between a soldier’s life in the Civil War and American Revolution. Attendees of all ages will compare military technology, cooking and foodways, camp life, and spying with high-quality interpreters. Admission is free. Events during the day include:

10:30 AM - Morning Drill and Kid’s Drill

11:30 AM - Meet the Soldiers

12:00 Noon - Historic Games on the Lawn and Explore the Encampments

1:30 PM - Code-Breaking and Letter Writing

2:30 PM - Afternoon Drill and Kid’s Drill, Soldier’s Mail Call

For mom and dad: Local authors will be signing copies of their books inside the Rector House all day. Pick up a copy, learn about their latest projects, and get a head start on holiday or back to school shopping!
