Welbourne Trail Ride

  • Welbourne 22314 Welbourne Farm Lane Middleburg, VA, 20117 United States (map)

Our historic trail ride series continues as we explore the vicinity of Welbourne. Located just west of Middleburg, Welbourne has long stood at the core of northern Virginia’s hunt country. In the 19th century it was home to Colonel Richard Henry Dulany, a Civil War cavalryman and founder of both the Piedmont Hunt and the Upperville Colt and Horse Show. This commitment to equestrian excellence continues to this day, and what better way to experience it than on horseback!

Please arrive early as the ride will begin at 9:00 AM and last approximately 2 hours.

Participants are responsible for providing their own horse and riding equipment.  They must be able to control their horse and remain with the group behind the leader.  Protective ASTM/SEI approved hard helmets are required by our insurance. Riders should also be comfortable walking, trotting, crossing small creeks, and riding on hills. If you need to hire a horse, please let us know and we can make local recommendations

On this ride you need to be comfortable with riding through open fields with large herds of curious free ranging retired horses.

Water and snacks will be provided. You are encouraged to bring your own tailgate lunch. All riders must provide Coggins Papers upon arrival.
